Upgrade your 6R80 transmission with a high-capacity alloy pan designed for towing, touring and heavy-duty use.

Factory pans can struggle to control transmission temperatures under load. By increasing fluid volume by 3 litres and adding our cooling fins, this upgrade helps lower operating temperatures in demanding conditions. Customers and workshop partners have reported temperature reductions over 30°C after fitting.

Built from thick wall cast alloy, it retains the factory magnet and adds an additional magnetic drain plug for extra debris capture, while remaining fully serviceable with standard Ford Ranger filters and gaskets.

A 1/8” NPT port is also included for an optional temperature sender, with a blanking plug supplied if you choose not to run a sensor.

Heat is one of the biggest contributors to early wear and failure in the 6R80 transmission. Vehicles used for towing, touring, or heavy-duty applications are especially at risk.

Our Full Install Package is designed for customers who want the entire upgrade handled professionally from start to finish. We supply the pan and service components, while our installation partner completes the upgrade, transmission service and inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which package should I choose?

The Complete Upgrade Kit offers the best value, combining the pan upgrade with internal components such as the bypass valve and connector to improve flow and address common wear points. The Pan Only option suits lower kilometre vehicles or lighter use, where a new filter or gasket may not yet be required. If you're in Melbourne, the Full Install Package is the easiest option.

Does this include transmission fluid?

Transmission fluid is not supplied in the DIY kits. Fluid is supplied and installed by the workshop as part of the Full Install Package, which includes a fluid flush.

What does the bypass valve do?

The bypass valve replaces the original thermistor and spring assembly to improve cooler flow and eliminate sticking issues that can restrict oil flow.

Do I need the bypass valve?

The bypass valve is recommended for vehicles used for towing, touring or higher load applications. It helps maintain consistent cooler flow and reduces the risk of flow restriction caused by the factory thermistor assembly.

Does this retain the factory magnet?

Yes. Our pan design allows you to retain the factory transmission pan magnet using the supplied retention system.

Is this suitable for towing?

Yes. This upgrade is ideal for towing, touring and heavy-use vehicles due to increased fluid capacity and improved heat dissipation.

Is this suitable for manual vehicles?

No. These products are designed specifically for vehicles equipped with the 6R80 automatic transmission and are not compatible with manual transmission models.

Why is the valve body frame connector included?

The valve body frame connector is a known wear item within the transmission. Over time, the internal seals can degrade, which may lead to fluid leakage and poor electrical connection. Replacing it during service helps maintain proper operation and reduces the risk of common wear-related issues.

Where is installation available?

Installation is currently available in South-East Melbourne through our partnered workshop. Booking is arranged after purchase of the Full Install Package.
