Holden Commodore VB-VS Front Stub Stiffener Bearing Spacers (PAIR)

The standard Commodore front stub axles are prone to flexing under heavy load & cornering. This flexing causes the bearings to move around inside the hub, which causes a change to the wheel camber when turning at high speeds.

To counter this flex, Planet Parts have developed stub stiffeners/bearing spacers specifically for early model Commodores. Our bearing spacers are installed inside the front hub, between the bearings.

Manufactured from hardened steel & zinc coated for durability.

Will also fit VB-VS models with VT-VZ brake conversions.

Once our bearing spacers are installed, you will have increased wheel spin, reduced bearing friction and significantly better brake & steering performance during high-speed cornering and braking. The retaining nut is also now able to be fully tightened, allowing for full roller contact, accurate preloading and a much stiffer and stronger hub.

Please note:

A lathe is required for installation. As each spacer is installed specifically to each hub, they need to be slightly machined for them to run true to the hub & bearings.

Machine from the larger end of the spacer.

Once you have machined the spacer to the point where it has no free-play or tightness with the bearings, you need to machine a further .025mmm to .050mm.

Inspect hubs and stub axles condition before installation and check for any excess wear or cracks.

Use a high quality high temp bearing grease. Do not use a moly disulphide grease.
