Upgrade your brakes to the MASSIVE 6-piston Mustang Front Brembo calipers and GT spec 380mm rotors – a huge improvement from the factory Falcon brakes!

This brake upgrade kit has been specifically designed to suit Ford BA, BF, FG and FGX Falcons, allowing you to fit Ford Mustang 2015-2022 S550 6-Piston Calipers. Our brackets are designed to position the Brembo caliper at the correct offset for the Mustang disc without the need for a spacer.

The adaptor brackets are manufactured from billet 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium and are heat treated and anodized black to guarantee durability.

As the kit retains the factory hubs and bearings, the ABS functions is completely unaffected.

The kit is very straight-forward and easy to install by anyone familiar with brake systems. Instructions are included, outlining all steps. Please make sure you read our “Installation Notes” at the bottom of the description as we give an overview of the installation process.

Please note: You will need a minimum 19” wheel to fit and clear the larger calipers and discs. 18" wheels and smaller will not clear.

Brembo Caliper Information:
The calipers compatible with this kit are what were fitted to 2015-2022 Ford Mustang GT Models. The specific part numbers are:

FRONT LEFT BREMBO CALIPER:
FORD: JR3Z-2B121-A, or FR3Z-2B121-C, FORD MOTORCRAFT: BRCF431
FRONT RIGHT BREMBO CALIPER:
FORD: JR3Z-2B120-A, or FR3Z-2B120-C, FORD MOTORCRAFT: BRCF430
 

When purchasing your calipers, please make sure they are not the 2022-onwards Mustang radial mounted Brembo calipers.

Brake Pad Information:
Front brake pads required are equivalent to 2015–2022 Mustang S550 models fitted with front Brembo 6-piston calipers.

Brake Discs Information:
The front discs required are the brake discs that come fitted to 2015-2022 Ford Mustang GT front Brembo calipers. Size: 380mm x 34mm.

IMPORTANT: The centre hole on the front rotors must be enlarged by 0.5mm. This can be done by hand using a small (round) file, on a lathe, or by a machinist.

Brake Hoses Information:
The factory Falcon brake hoses will be too short for the Brembo calipers. The brake hoses that are compatible with our kit are FPV-equivalent front brake lines for the model you are upgrading. The FPV-equivalent models are fitted with factory 4-piston or 6-piston Brembo calipers and use the correct hose length.

For Ford BA-BF Models: Use FPV BA-BF Model FRONT Brake Hoses.

For Ford FG-FGX Models: Use FPV FG-FGX Model FRONT Brake Hoses.

Please note: We do not currently carry a brake hose for the FG-FGX FPV models, however they are readily available from many other parts suppliers.

 

Caliper Hardware Information:
The caliper hardware required for this setup uses the factory Mustang-style pad retaining components. This hardware retains the brake pads within the 6-piston Brembo calipers.

As the genuine Ford Hardware kit is quite expensive, we also have our own PLANET PARTS equivalent pad retaining kit AVAILABLE HERE (1 required).

 

Installation Notes:

Factory steering knuckles are cast iron and may have an uneven surface finish from the manufacturing process. This can prevent the adaptor brackets from sitting flush against the knuckle. If required, sand or grind the mounting face to achieve a smooth, flat surface before installation.

The factory caliper mounting holes must be tapped to M14x1.5. The original holes measure 12.5mm in diameter, which is the correct size to run an M14x1.5 tap through. Always use a high-quality tap. Cheap or worn taps can damage the hole and strip the thread completely.

The steering knuckles must be removed from the vehicle before tapping. This is the only way to ensure the holes are tapped straight. This step is critical. The holes must be tapped perfectly straight for the adaptor bracket to align correctly with the caliper over the rotor.

A small section of the Brembo caliper casting must be machined where it fouls against the factory stub once installed. The material to be removed is located near the mounting bolt on the rear of the caliper. Removing this section does not affect the structural integrity of the caliper. The interference point is clearly visible during test fitting and can be carefully removed using a die grinder, Dremel, or similar rotary tool. When machining or grinding the caliper, do not grind the flat mounting surface where the caliper bolts to the bracket. This surface must remain untouched to ensure correct alignment.

For FG–FGX models only:
An additional small section must be ground from the stub axle. This is easily identified during installation and does not affect structural integrity.
